Amazing photos , can you get that close to the parked airplanes and did you had problems with security? This airport isn't that far from here but only have been once when I was still a young guy

Hello, You can take some pics of aircraft from the left and the right side of the terminal. If you are inside the terminal on the first floor, go outside to the left. Here you are standing on a ramp and you can take pics here from the smaller a/c like Beechcraft 1900, EMB.120, EMB-135/145,... If you go to the other side of the terminal you can take a shot of the first aircraft parked in front of the terminal thrue the fence (I took F-GLIT from here). To take pics li the Air Post Europe and the landing Fokker you have to drive from the terminal towards the cargo. At the round-about near the cargo area follow towards the small village called Fretin. After a while you will drive under the approach. I used to park my car next to the fence but last year I stood there for only 5 minutes when the police already arrived and my ID and car and then (friendly) asked me not to stay there . So I drove further away from the airport (towards fretin) and a little bit further you can park your car on the left of the road and when a aircraft was coming I walked towards the fence. The police passed me a couple of timed more that day, but didn't had any problems anymore. About the traffic, well, during weekends there's not very much to see and now it's gonna be winter it ain't going to be very interresting during weekdays aswell I guess. You better check the shedules at www.lille.aeroport.fr/horaires/index.htm before you go. But if you are in the neighbourhood, a drive by could be worth while. Most aircraft are regional stuff from Air France partners but Air Algerie is also a frequent operator together with some French chartercompanies. In February Lufthansa started daily flights from Lille to Munich but that's already finished . The Securite Civile has a EC.145 based here aswell. Be aware that if you park your car in the carpark, you can only pay with creditcard and 'airport jetons' which you can by inside the terminal I presume

No sorry, no terrace at Lille . Actually it's a bridge where you can drive upon with your car to drop of passengers. Don't leave your car here unmanned, police is controlling frequently . If you walk back down the bridge you can take pics of aircraft parked next to the terminal. To take the photo of F-GRGG I walked a little bit further over the round-about and climbed up the small grass hill. Here you can take pics thrue the fence (if your lens is thin enough ). Regards, Kristof
