Belga) Belgium has contacts with the United States to sell an unspecified number of F16's, that Washington then would sell on to Pakistan. This was heard in Brussels from a government source, who confirmed an article in the newspaper the Pakistan Observer. According to the Islamabad newspaper Pakistan has decided to buy 26 F16's from Belgium and the Netherlands. They form part of a batch of 76 fighters of which the sale was announced by the American president Bush on March 26th. The 26 aircraft will be sold by Belgium and the Netherlands to Pakistan if the American Congress has given authorisation for the sale to a third country, according to the Pakistan Observer Saturday edition. De newspaper quotes a probable price of 10 million dollar per aircraft.
