Hello Tigerfans,
last newsletter of this year.
NEWS:
From the 13th until the 17th of December, the Air- and Land Force of Defence had low flight exercises above the Province of Luxembourg and Namen. During these exercises the ground objectives were in one operation zone within the military practice area south-west of Marche-en-Famenne. The flights at low altitude were named 'Poppy Blue’ where FAC or Forward Air Controllers guided the 31 squadron pilots towards their target.
In 2006 all Belgian squadrons will be transformed to Multi-Role! This means former Air Defence squadrons will have to be able to execute ground attacks and fighter bombers will have to be able to engage in air combat. Therefore 2005 will be a transformation year were squadrons will train new things. 31 squadron for example will have to learn Slow Mover Protection, 349 will learn how to work with the Targetting Pod. After a year all squadrons will be NATO Multi-Role
PICTURES:
Thanks to Guido Theunissen I could add 2 new picturs of the FA-62 in Nato TigerMeet 1985 color scheme and 3 pictures of 31 squadron F-16s with the old tigerhead and 10TW logo on the tail.
Further I added 2 new wallpapers of the FA-87 in Nato Tigermeet 2004 color scheme, provided by Air Defence Controller Dirk Voortmans.
MEMORABILIA:
8 new patches are online: 5 standard patches and 3 other patches.
Further Jens Schoofs gave me a picture of the Tshirt with the 2001 Display program of the White Falcon, flown by a Tiger pilot.
Thanks to Laurent Heyligen 4 stickers are added to the database.
Jens and Laurent also send me some additional stuff to place in the varia section: pins and magnets of the 31 Tiger squadron and a metal plate of the Tigermeet of 1978 at KeeBee.
OTHER:
I would like to announce I am working on a new layout for the website. Therefore updates could be less frequent than normal for the first few months of 2005. Also I am studying for my exams so I will have less time to work on the website until February.
Oh yes, and a happy new year to all!
Tigergreetz,
Faan
