Hello Tiger-fans,
Some news-updates on what happened at the 31 sqn in Novembre:
* As a former F104 Starfighter Air Base and to emphasize the good relationship with the local communities, the Kleine Brogel 10th Tactical Wing build a Belgian Air Force F-104 (FX-94) as a monument on an important roundabout in the nearby town Peer. Prior to the official ceremony which will take place in mid-November, KeeBee organized an informal BE Starfighter-pilots gathering at Kleine Brogel AB on the 27th of October, including a fly by & landing of a F-104 coming from the 10th Sqn at Grazzanise, Italy. The Italian F-104 was accompanied by 2 Belgian F-16's; one singelseater and one dubbleseater. 31 Tiger sqn pilot Captain "Skate" Pattyn, ex-31 Tiger sqn pilot Major "Patja" Stams and Major "Eeckie" Heeckhout piloted the F-16's. Tiger John Vandebosch also gave a breath taking demo for the spotters.
* A military ceremony took place on the 15th of November at 2.25 pm for the Feast of His Majesty the King. Each Component of Defense participated with a detachment. 31 Tiger pilot Captain Bert “Tuur” Thurman carried the 10th Tactical Wing standard, also 2 other crewmembers of the Tiger squadron volunteered to march along in the 10WTAC detachment.
* From the 19th till the 26th of November the 31 “Tiger” squadron deployed to Waddington (U.K) for their annual ACMI (Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentations). The goal of the deployment was to get a maximum realistic training in air-to-air engagements. Thanks to Kevin Bates for the fast sending of pictures, you can find a link to his website (airliner images) at the spotters-link page.
Also a new picture is added at the article on the Sanicole Airshow. The FA-05, which is used for statics at airshows, carried a 31 Tiger sqn ribbon on the tail. Thanks to Didier Steenbeke for the picture.
Another interesting addition to the website is the interviews with Marc Peeters who works at the secretariat of 31 and demo pilot John Vandebosch. Thank you Marc & John!
Further I have received lots of new material from ex-tiger Johan "Meuke" De Meurichy, Peter Poulen, Didier Steenbeke and Jos Schoofs. Here is a list of what is new:

To finish I would like to apologize because the server has been down a lot the last month, the host encountered some problems thereby leaving the website and my email-addresses unavailable for quite some time. I hope this problem is now fixed, otherwise I will change hosts next year.

Faan
