Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have just come back from the Airbourne Airshow at Eastbourne in East Sussex, England and was wondering if anyone has any photos of the F16 that flew here? All I know is that it was from the Belgian Air Force and that the pilot won an award for the best solo display at the Biggin Hill Air Show. The commentator said he has the words Prince of Darkness written on his flying suit! I think this was the same man who was doing 12G pull-ups (there was mention of him having to let his seat slip back till he was almost in a horizontal position before doing them).
Sorry I don't have any more precise information. I'm new at going to Air Shows!

Hey Simon, welcom to this forum the pilot who's doing all the solo diplay's around the world for the Belgian F16 is John Vandebosch, he's super indeed ;D here you can find a pic of the plane on the official Belgian Defence homepage www.mil.be/aircomp/wallpapers.asp?LAN=N it's the first pic must have some myself to, wil search tomorrow i know Fabke has a superb one, maybe if you ask it verry nicely ...... ;D for more info on John VDB, i refer you to Faan; he's a 31'sq specialist, VDB being a 31sq pilot..........

Thanks guys for welcoming me to the forum and for the informative replies. I've looked at the websites with the pictures of John in the F-16. Nice photos! I know someone in town (I live in St Leonards on Sea) who may have photographed John's plane at the Airbourne Air Show, so I will ask him if he can let me have some pictures for the site. I won't promise anything though (he may have photographed other aircraft instead). I see from the Air Show diary dates, that John will be appearing at the Yeovilton International Air Show in England next month, so I will try to get there. I hope to be going to Duxford on Sept 4/5th. I don't think any F-16's will be flying there though. Fabke, I would like to see some of those photos you mentioned of John's display. Can you email them to me at: crowstone23@yahoo.co.uk? That would be cool! ;D One question I have which I'm hoping someone can answer is that I'm sure the commentator at the Airbourne show said that John was doing 12G pull-ups. My brother, however, says this is impossible and that its only possible for pilots to withstand 8 or 9G's. Is that right? I think the commentator also said that John won his award at the Biggin Hill Air show, but it says on one of the websites I looked at that he won it at Fairford. Either this guy kept getting his facts wrong or I need my ears washing out!! Thanks for your help!

I don't know anything of John winning an award at Biggin Hill Air show, could be, but doubt that. He certainly won the Paul Bowen Solo Display Trophy at Fairford.
About the G's. I was always told a man can only endure 8 to 9 G's max. It is a fact however the F-16 can pull up to 12G's, but software in the 'fly-by-wire' makes shure you can only pull 9G's.
