Today the nosewheel of the FA-87 collapsed on the taxiway, in the final turn to the runway. Pilot was Major Geert Dedecker, commanding officer of 31 tiger sqn. the F-16AM is still on the taxiway for inspection. F-16AM FA-87 was the only M upgraded F-16 @ KB. All F-16s from KB are grounded for inspection. Picture : (bad quality )

Source repsons: All sorties that day were cancelled and all F-16s from KB were grounded. This morning Brussels decided the F-16s could fly again. Probable cause of the collapse was metal fatigue, alle KB F-16s will be scanned for this problem.

Thanks for the photo TC and thanks to Faan for the info Indeed very poor to see this upgraded F16 sitting on the runway with a collapsed nosewheel , hope they will find out what happened

Another update from a source, it wasn't the FA-87, but FA-83, and KB has 2 (well now only 1 M3 upgrades...
