Hi all, Next year in the summer I would like to go on a holiday in Spain or Greece where it's possible to spot some days , can somebody give me info about which airport is best to spot when on a holiday , I mean an airport close to your hotel or better close to the beach so that my family can enjoy the beach and in the meanwhile I can spot planes ;D , all suggestions/info are very welcome , if you could give me hotel names in Spain/Greece which gives you a view on landing/taking off airplanes it would even be better thanks

Hello Fabke,
I've been a couple of years ago (euh 3), to Crete (greece) to a little village called Analipsi. I stayed there with my girlfriend on a verry nice hotel/appartment with the private beach in front of the hotel with only a road between. (I think 10 meters from the hotel).
This was in the landing of Heraklion. And spotting was good to do.. The aircrafts came overhead and sometimes we could made some nice pictures.
This could be interresting for you. Other airports to visit on Crete are Souda (with much F-16's from Greece), this is a 2 hours drive from analipsi, Kasteli (detachment of F-16's and a lot of visit are seen here), a 30 minutes drive by a rented scooter and a museum with a few former Greece Fighter aircrafts.
best regards
Arno Cornelissen
PS. if requested I could scan some images from that vacation.

Fabke, 2 years ago I went to Corfu and I hope to go back next year. It's paradise!!! ;D. Excellent for photography. View my pics on spottersparadise.fotopic.net (SORRY for the bad quality, didn't had a digital camera yet : I didn't stay at the 'Hotel Royal' but in the 'Corfu Holiday Palace' next door. From my room on the fifth floor I had an nice view over the entire airport, see www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=204417. Watch out: if you have a room lower than the fifth floor your view will be obstructed by trees and buildings! I had booked a room with bayview (the airport is situated in the bay) but when I arrived they gave us a room on the ground level . After some discussion with the staff and the Jetair hostess they gave us the room on the fifth floor ;D, bad thing was already 3 days had past by then. So watch out when you book and when you arrive. Some pics of aircraft in take off were possible from my room when RWY17 was in use. During the day I spotted from the hotel private beach or the cafe terrace at the 'Hotel Royal'. In the evening you can view a nice sunset from here aswell. On one day I was sitting on the terrace when 4 policemen arrived...to go to the toilet. They didn't mentioned a thing about the cameras. Some spotters even used their scanners. All I can say is you have to go there ;D. If you want more info, just ask.

Hey Fab, Maybe you can go to Salou (Spain) I was there a few years ago, maybe I go back this year. You will have you're landing than at REUS Airport. Not a great aeroport, but when U will land there will be a lot of traffic (all tourists). The same when U come back, once U're checked in....U have to wait till U can be "boarded" and that waiting is in a great hall where U can take a lot of nice pics of the planes who visit REUS. Hope it was a little help...........

It's almost sure now it will be Ibiza , anyone comments about the Fiesta Don Toni hotel which is located at Playa d'Enbossa and I've heard the flight path to the airport is just next to the hotel , any info is very welcome Have been searching many hours on the internet and have seen many good comments/reviews about this hotel , especially for people who have children.
