At last... I finally found the time to put my pics online of the "Open Dagen 2005" @ Gilze Rijen AB. airpower.vze.comIt was the very first time that I took pictures with a Nikon D70 (that I borrowed from a friend) ;D So please feel free to give me advise or tips. I must say the pics are lowered in resolution to save some webspace... but nevertheless... I hope you'll enjoy them!

Nice pictures. The D70 seems to be a sweet camera. I'm a Canon-guy myself since they simply fit my hands better. Very cool pics!

Nikon offers the D70 with kit lenses, so I would like to know if the lenses you used are those that are in the kit . Thanks. Jumbo

Jumbo Jumbo... sorry for the late answer, but I had to contact the one from who I borrowed this D70. The lenses I used are the: * zoom AF-S Nikkor 18-70 mm 1:3,5 - 4,5 G ED * zoom AF Nikkor 70-300 mm 1:4,5 - 5,6 G The first lens is specially developped for digital cameras. The second one is a lens for an 'analog' reflexcamera. Used on a digital body, you have to multiply the zoom with 1.5, so than we have: 105 - 450 mm. This is what he told me. He bought the lenses indeed together with the camera in one kit. Are you going to buy one? I'm also interested in buying a camera, but I still do not know what to buy... Canon EOS 350D, Nikon D70, Nikon D70s.... Greetz

Thank you Bert for the info on the lenses.
I have not yet decided what camera I would buy. I've heared that the Canon EOS 350D suffers from bad AF (seems to be a body problem) and that the kit lenses are not so good quality.
The Nikon D70 could be a good buy if you can find one, because of the introduction of the D70s.
The D70s seems to be OK, but there is this price difference. Also, I have a bad experience with my Nikon Coolpix camera (had to be repaired twice already and still suffers from "system errors"), so I am a bit reluctant.
I think I wait a few months and see how the D70s and even the D50 are performing.
Greetz,
Jumbo
